by Today we will all together explore the biblical teaching on women’s roles in the church. We’ll be focusing on 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:11-14. Understanding God’s design for silence and submission in ministry.
In this generation, many have chosen to reinterpret, revise, or ignore the plain commandments of God. However, God has not changed and He is not the author of confusion. The Word of God is immutable. His Word is final and eternal. This message is a passionate call to return to biblical order within the Church on issues concerning the role of women in the church. Our strong desire is to obey the clear command of the Holy Spirit as written in Scripture.
God Commands Silence for Women in the Church: Understanding 1 Corinthians 14:34-35
The Apostle Paul, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, explicitly states in 1 Corinthians 14:34–35 (KJV): “Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.“
This passage is not merely Brother Paul’s suggestion. It is also not cultural advice. It is clearly a divine command. The phrase “it is not permitted unto them to speak” signifies a clear prohibition from God. This directive is rooted in “the law.” It references the divine order established from creation and also found within the Law of Moses.
Is the implication of the statement, “And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home; for it is a shame for women to speak in the church,” something you have ever considered? So have we all actually been indulging ourselves in shameful acts? Have the leaders of the churches been encouraging our sisters to be behaving shamefully before our God? Just think about it. This is the last awakening; the wise virgins must wake and trim the lamp of their spirits. There is no longer time. Our precious sisters must beware and not allow pride and self trap their souls in disobedience. There is nothing in this world that is worth any soul becoming the eternal enemy of the Living God.
Interpreting ‘Not Permitted to Speak’ in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35
This command implies that any church or ministry that permits women to preach, teach men, or lead over men in the assembly is directly disobeying God’s Word. God is not sentimental with these things. The Holy Bible teaches that he that gathers not with us is scattering. The acclaimed God’s generals of our time have essentially been in rebellion on issues concerning women teaching in church and female leadership in church. What the Lord has forbidden has become the norm. What is not permitted has become the daily sacrifice and practice. The whole place is in a mess, in a rebellious shambles.
The Biblical Law Of Subjection And Order For Women In Ministry
The command for women to be “under obedience, as also saith the law” (1 Corinthians 14:34) is fundamentally grounded in the creation order and the fall of humanity. It is not male chauvinism. It is a divine doctrine; that has its root from the beginning of creation.
1 Timothy 2:11–14 (KJV) further elaborates on this: “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, being deceived, was in the transgression.”
This passage highlights two spiritual key points:
• Adam was formed first (1 Timothy 2:13): This establishes a divine structure and order within creation. This is from the very first ordinances of God. It was not born out of the emergency of the need for containment of Eve. This is in the creative plans of God—to bring Adam first to be the first to stand before God in fellowship.
• Eve was deceived (1 Timothy 2:14): This points to a vulnerability in teaching roles, reinforcing the need for established order. This is predicated on Divine valuation of the roles and the qualification for such roles. In the Church of God, and not outside the body, women by their natural inclinations have confirmed themselves as the weaker vessels. Their unrelenting desire to compete instead of complimenting the men is a manifestation of that weakness. Women were not made to compete with men; they were made to complete him. Those who understand this (both men and women) will have a great and fulfilled life on earth. Everything has its order of things.
Just as God ordained the sun to rule the day and the moon to govern the night, He has assigned the role of leadership within the Church to men. God is the head of the man, and man is the head of the woman. This is a spiritually confirmed order of hierarchical authority before God. When this divine order is disrupted, confusion inevitably arises, impacting the overall church order and biblical principles. The resulting confusion also threatens human existence here on Earth. Let our sisters rise in divine power through obedience to the Word of God.
Understanding Silence: The Value of Women’s Learning In The Church
Paul’s instruction, “Let the woman learn…” (1 Timothy 2:11), makes it very clear that women are not excluded from learning. They should by all means learn, but not boisterously. Instead, they are instructed on how to learn: “in silence, with all subjection.” This emphasizes a posture of reverence, humility, and receptivity rather than a prohibition of intellectual engagement.
The home is designated as the appropriate place for women to ask questions and seek understanding (1 Corinthians 14:35). Husbands are given the responsibility to be spiritual leaders in their households. They are to guide their wives in biblical truth and answer their questions at home. A man must of necessity know God. And he should be ever ready and able to teach his wife. This highlights the importance of submission in church and within the family unit.
Therefore, women in the Church are encouraged to embrace a holy, quiet spirit, which God values greatly (1 Peter 3:4). This is God’s design for women. Women should honor God in it. They should stop seeking roles where God has not called them to lead. This perspective is often associated with complementarian church theology, which emphasizes distinct yet complementary roles for men and women in the church and home.
Obedience to God’s Word: Avoiding Rebellion in Church Leadership
Any man or woman who disregards clear biblical teachings is rebelling against God’s established order. When you rebel against God’s established order, bye and bye you are rebelling against God Himself. Those who rebel against God are practicing witchcraft. As stated in 1 Samuel 15:23 (KJV): “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” What will be your gain by making yourself a witch in the sight of God?
In 1 Timothy 3:1-5, 8, 11-12 (READ THIS AT HOME), it is written; “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, …….. for if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? “Likewise must the deacons …..Even so must their wives be grave, …..Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.”
The significant of this passage is that God has told us who He appointed to be His Bishop. He made it clear that this job is limited to men. A bishop is a husband; the husband of one wife. He is not a polygamists, not a divorcees, not a gay and definitely not a woman, single or married. The same are the deacons. A Deacon is a husband; the husband of one wife. He is not a polygamists, not a divorcees, not a gay and definitely not a deaconess single or married.
Stern Warning Against The Foolish Virgins.
This passage serves as a stern warning against those dwelling carelessly in the House of God. Pastors who ordain women to teach (or lead) in mixed congregations are called to repent and align with biblical principles. Today false ministers are ordaining women pastors, deaconessess, lady Apostles in the Churches. This is a terrible abomination before God. It is rebellion. It is witchcraft. But it is not only the fault of the false ministers, it is also the fault of the women who have taken on such roles in the congregations. They are all rebelling against God. They are by this urged to humbly step down in reverence to God’s Word. Nobody can force you to rebel against God. You have a right to say no – do not follow multitude to commit sin.
Exodus 23:2; “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment.” The book of Exodus 23 holds the laws given to the people of Israel. Emphasis is made concerning justice, righteousness, and virtue (high moral conduct). In this instruction the individual is cautioned to remain truthful and righteous even when all others choose to do the opposite. The instruction encourages personal integrity and discourages us from being swayed by popular but sinful behaviors. Our sisters can learn from that singular injuction, especially when backslidden or ignorant brothers try to cajole them into rebelling against God’s Word.
Do not allow any false pastor assigned to you a duty God warned you to avoid. This is a critical aspect of upholding biblical authority that women and men are called to respect. Don’t fall victim to other people’s greed and ungodly desires. Don’t say you didn’t know. Ignorance is not an excuse. It is written, “My people perish because of lack of knowledge.” You can see that they are God’s people yet they perished because they lacked the proper knowledge of God.
In Proverbs 1:10, 15: “My son, if sinners entice thee, Consent thou not. My son, walk not thou in the way with them; Refrain thy foot from their path:” sinners are sinners whether they are within or outside the congregation. The Holy Spirit warns us not to listen to them. And who are the sinners in the house of God? Is it not those who know what is right and good for them to do but they refuse to do it? instead they do what pleases them, what seems good in their own eyes. It is written in James 4:17: “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” Today we all know what is good for us to do in this matter concerning our sisters. Go and do what is commanded.
The Church As The Pillar of Truth: Upholding Biblical Standards
1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) describes the Church as: “…the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” God expects the Church to uphold divine truth. You must not succumb to popular and cultural opinions, traditions, or to the world’s progressive standards. Children of God must adher strictly to scriptural teaching on issues concerning women and other doctrines. This is the only way to ensure that the Church remains the beacon of Light in a world lost in darkness. The Church must remain the salt of the Earth in a decaying world sysyetm, by adhering to the truth of the Gospel.
Warnings Against Disobedience
The Scripture warns us in clear terms against deviating from God’s ordained order:
• Isaiah 3:12 (KJV): “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err…”. Do not allow anyone to decieve you. Do not follow the multitude to commit iniquity. Do not allow yourself to be led into error. Isaiah was talking about the people of God. God referred to them as His people yet those who ruled over them caused them to err.
• 2 John 1:9 (KJV): “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.” These verses strongly rebuke churches who do not abide in God’s word. It is very clear that through error children of God can become God’s enemies. You make yourself the enemy of God to your damnation. Obviously those who promote and ordain women pastors, teachers and deaconesses instead of men are doing that at their own peril. The scriptures have already made it clear that such practices do not align with the doctrine of Christ. It is the work of the anti-christ.
Encouragement To Obey God’s Word
Those who truly love and reverence God will go on to draw water out of the well of salvation with joy. They will still remain in obedience beholding the beauty of God’s complex wisdom. The hypocrites who came for money, power and fame will not accept this truth. They will continue to resist the Word and rebel against God. Yet we know that though the commandments of God concerning women may seem strict, the underlying motivation is love and reverence towards God.
• John 14:15 (KJV): “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” This is the love of God that we keep his commandments. and His commandment is not grievious. For all those jumping about pretending to love God, and claiming to be working for the Lord, obedience to God is the only proof that you love the Lord.
• 1 Peter 3:4 (KJV): “Let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”
Women in the Church are called to glorify God by fulfilling their precious role: being holy, discreet, and teaching good things to younger women, as outlined in Titus 2:3–5 (READ THIS ). Women God has given you all an exclusive ministry. You are commanded to be keepers at home. God says, take care of your home. take care of your husbands and teach your daughters to do the same. Be a virtuous woman. Be a merchant vessel and teach your daughters to do the same. This is a ministry of a life time, and this aligns with the overall God’s design for women in church.
Conclusion: God’s Design For Women In the Church
The biblical commands regarding women’s role in church are clear:
• Women are not to teach or lead (or usurp authority over) men in the church. They are not permitted to.
• Women are to be silent in the churches during public assembly. And ask questions at home if they need to.
• Husbands are to lead and teach within the homes.
This divine design is not harsh; it is holy. It reflects God’s perfect order for His Church. It is His Church not yours. It is His plans, will and purpose that must be done not yours. God’s instruction to women emphasizes His own demand for obedience and reverence to his will. It is the church of God. And it is He that is building His Church. If you are building anything different, you are definitely not building with Him. And whatever you are buidling is not the Church of God. It will soon be destroyed with fire and you will be a cast away.

• To Pastors: Tear down the altars of compromise. Remove women from pulpits and restore biblical order in your congregations. Worship God and not mammon, fame and power.
• To Women: Embrace the honor of silence and submission as a spiritual act of worship. Understand your valuable role within God’s design. Occupy only the space that God has ordained from the foundation of the Earth for you. Do not try to be another Eve, to the last Adam. Judgement is coming and it is very fierce, for our God is a consuming fire!
• To Men: Rise up to teach, lead, and protect the flock as God commands, fulfilling your God-given responsibilities.
As Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV) concludes: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
Closing Prayer
“Lord, give us your Grace and the courage to obey You fully, even when it is unpopular. Give us the divine enablement to always keep standing on the Truth, even when it is obvious we will be standing alone. Let Your church be holy, blameless, and obedient. Restore Godly orderliness in our midst. Help us to depart from the course of rebellion, that we all may enjoy the mighty blessings that follow complete obedience. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”
