Why Satan cannot have a Church

WHY SATAN CANNOT HAVE A CHURCH: THE TRUE BIBLICAL MEANING OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST

The Church: Called Out of Darkness into God’s Marvelous Light.

The word Church (translated from Greek: ekklesia) means “the called-out ones.” By biblical definition, the Church is not a building or a man-made institution. It’s also not every kind of human or religious gathering. The Church is organic, a people whom God has called out:

  • Out of the world of darkness and sin.
  • It’s a people called out of Satan’s power and influence.
  • Into the marvelous light of God through His holy Son, Jesus Christ.

The apostle Peter declares in 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

This calling makes the Church exclusively Christ’s possession. A church is a nation of holy, peculiar people. No other entity has the right to refer to its gathering as the Church. Satan has no authority, no share, and no ownership in it. The Church is the body of Christ. It is not a name or a title; she is a living entity. The Church is organic; it is alive.

Christ the Builder of His Church

Jesus Himself laid the unshakable foundation of the Church. In the Book of Matthew 16:18, he said, “…upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

This declaration seals two truths:

1. The Church belongs to Christ alone. He is the sole builder and owner of His Church.

2. There’s no other entity ever known to humanity called the Church but the Church of God, which He built.

3. Satan’s power and devices cannot overthrow the Church. Satan may counterfeit many things, but he cannot build the Church.

The Church is the body of Christ.

The Nature of the True Church

The Bible describes the Church in exalted terms that prove its uniqueness:

1 Timothy 3:15: “The church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.”

Ephesians 1:22–23: “The church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.”

Only Christ can be the head of the Church, which is His own body. You as a person have your own body. Only you will be the head. If not, your body won’t be identified as yours anymore. And only His body, which He redeemed with His own blood, can be called the Church.

What Satan Actually Has

While the world may call satanic gatherings a “Church of Satan,” this is biblically a falsehood. That is a fallacy. The Church is the body of Christ. There cannot be a body of Christ of Satan. That’s abominable heresy. Satan does not call people out of darkness and into the light; he traps and destroys them in darkness. His assemblies are rightly called by other names:

  • Covens.
  • Shrines or altars.
  • Temples of idolatry.
  • Occult lodges.
  • Ritual circles.

All these are the meeting places of darkness. These are not and can never be the Church. The Church is the body of Christ. This is why Satan can never have a Church. Even if Satan has a gathering of humans, which he decides to refer to as his own body, it cannot be called the Church.

Why People Use the Phrase “Church of Satan”

The term persists for two reasons:

1. Mockery of God’s order: Satan’s sole agenda is to counterfeit God’s creation and ridicule the body of Christ.

2. Cultural misuse of the word “church”: Society uses “church” generically for any religious group, even non-Christian ones.

But biblically, the Church is exclusively the blood-bought community of Christ.

Conclusion: The Church Is Exclusively Christ’s

When we look at the truth from the Holy Scriptures, it is clear:

  • The Church is the called-out people of God, rescued from darkness and Satan’s power.
  • The Church is Christ’s body, His fullness, His pillar of truth on earth.
  • Satan has covens, shrines, and false temples, but he has no Church.
  • There is only one true Church, and it belongs to Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.

Fear God and keep His teachings. Do not be confused by the enemy of your soul.
