ASSURED PROSPERITY FOR OBEDIENT BELIEVERS: GOD’S ABUNDANCE IS GUARANTEED FOR THOSE WHO OBEY HIM

IF YOU ARE WILLING AND OBEDIENT YOU WILL EAT THE GOOD OF THE LAND.

Every child of God longs to walk in answered prayers, abundant divine provisions, and lasting peace. But Scripture makes it clear that God’s blessings though free are not automatic. His abundance is guaranteed only to those who live their lives in obedience to His word. They keep His commandments, and seek to do what pleases Him. The Bible repeatedly affirms that obedience to God opens the door to prosperity through answered prayers. While disobedience shuts heaven’s doors against the unfaithful seeker.

This message is prepared to challenge you to dedicate your life to studying God’s Word. And also commit to a lifestyle of obedience so you can enjoy God’s fullness in this present world.

1. GOD RESPONDS TO OBEDIENCE, NOT TO EMPTY WORDS

1 John 3:22 declares: “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

The condition for answered prayer is not merely asking. Rather it is living a life of obedience towards God; a life that is aligned with God’s will. We receive because we keep His commands and we go the extra mile to do things that are pleasing in His sight. Heaven responds compulsorily to the obedient. If you want your prayers answered by God, you must commit to studying His Word and practicing it daily.

2. GOD DOESN’T HEAR THE DISOBEDIENT

John 9:31 states: “Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.”

This is a sobering truth, that every sinner must hear. God is not moved by empty religious activities/recitations. He is moved only by a life of obedience. The Living God will not accept worship from those who disobey Him. Many people pray without results because they refuse to surrender to God’s will. If you want your voice to be heard in heaven, you must walk in obedience on earth. I was worshipping together with other believers one day and as we all lifted up our hands saying, “Ooh! Father we worship you. God we worship you”.

The voice of the Lord came into me, what He said to me was a big turning point in my life. He said, “You don’t worship me by coming here and doing all these things you are doing here. Lifting up your hands to say these things. But you worship me out there in the world, when opportunities come for you to obey me and you obey. That’s when you are worshipping me. You worship me when you obey me out there. Then when you come here and raise up your hands to me I will accept your worship.

If you don’t obey God out there, you are not worshiping Him. And He’ll not open His ears unto your prayers. Obedience to God is the true act of worship. And that’s what will assure you of prosperity on Earth.

3. LOVE FOR CHRIST IS PROVEN THROUGH OBEDIENCE

Jesus Himself declared in John 14:15: “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

Love for God is not proven by words but by acts of obedience. It’s not by endless denominational programs and activities. True disciples will study the Word of God daily, treasures them in their hearts, and do them. The measure of your love for Christ is not how much you sing, preach, fast or pray. It is measured by how much you obey His word.

4. CONFIDENCE IN PRAYER COMES FROM OBEDIENCE

1 John 5:14-15 assures us: “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

Confidence in prayer flows from knowing you are aligned with God’s will. Studying the Word reveals God’s will. Obedience to His revealed will is what positions you to receive what you ask for. Without obedience, prayers lack authority and confidence. And they’ll not be heated, nor answered. You’ll get a rebuke instead, which is reserved for workers of iniquity. That’s what God calls those that neglect His word – workers of iniquity.

5. THE RIGHTEOUS ARE NEVER FORSAKEN

The Word says:

Proverbs 15:29: “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.”

Psalm 34:17: “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.”

This is the guaranteed security of the obedient believer. When trouble arises, God Himself steps in to deliver His children. You never need to fear the storms of life when your life is anchored in obedience to God’s Word. God will hear the obedient. But He keeps His distance from the disobedient, whom God regards as being wicked. God will not fellowship wit the wicked.

6. OBEDIENCE UNLOCKS DIVINE PROSPERITY

Finally, Exodus 23:25 promises us God’s blessings: “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from among you.”

This is a covenant of prosperity and health God has made with those who serve Him. Serving God means walking in obedience to His Word. This brings both spiritual and physical blessings. God guarantees abundance, divine provision, and healing for those who dedicate their lives to Him.

Obedience the key to divine riches

CONCLUSION: COMMIT TO OBEDIENCE TODAY

My beloved, prosperity, answered prayers, and divine protection are not for everyone. They are reserved for obedient believers. The key is simple:

  • Dedicate yourself daily to studying the Word of God.
  • Commit to obeying His commandments, not selectively but completely.
  • Live to please God in all that you do.

In the book of Joshua 1:5-9:

[5] There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

[6] Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

[7] Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

[9] Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

If you make obedience your lifestyle, you can boldly stand on the promises of God, assured that He will hear, bless, and prosper you. God will not forget His obedient children.

Your destiny is secure, your prosperity is assured. Your prayers are guaranteed to be answered—if you will walk in obedience.
